The Management of the Plateau Youth Agricultural Empowerment Programme (P-YAEP) has officially opened applications for the 2026 Agro Partnership Program (APP), a mechanized and cluster-based farming initiative aimed at empowering young agro-entrepreneurs across Plateau State.
According to the management, the programme is designed to provide selected participants with access to farmland, farming inputs, mechanization support, and technical guidance under a transparent cost-recovery framework intended to boost agricultural productivity and youth participation in agribusiness.
In a statement signed by the Project Lead of P-YAEP/BARC Farms, the initiative will offer successful applicants surveyed leasehold farmland under a specialized cluster model, alongside a full input package including high-yield seeds, fertilizers, and agrochemicals that will be digitally tracked.
The programme will also provide access to a central tractor pool and over 200 hand tillers to support mechanized farming operations.
To ensure participants’ welfare and safety, the management disclosed that beneficiaries would receive on-site accommodation, feeding support, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), medical response services, and security coverage through the NSCDC Agro-Rangers.
P-YAEP further explained that participants would retain 100 percent of their remaining profits after the direct cost of farm inputs has been recovered at harvest.
The management stated that applicants must be between 18 and 45 years old, reside in Plateau State, and possess verifiable farming experience or have previously participated in P-YAEP programmes with a clean record.
Interested applicants are also expected to commit fully to the operational farming cycle, sign a binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and provide reliable guarantors.
Applications for the programme are free and can be completed through the official application link:
The management also noted that all shortlisted candidates would undergo compulsory induction, financial literacy, and mechanization safety training at the Azi Nyako Youth Centre, Jos, before deployment to the field.
