The Plateau Cultural Carnival has named Lonny John Lohnan and Pyemwa Deshi as the King and Queen of its 2024 edition, celebrating their outstanding efforts in preserving and promoting Plateau State’s rich cultural heritage.
Lonny John Lohnan, an acclaimed filmmaker and founder of TAROK TV, has been instrumental in showcasing Plateau’s cultural diversity through his films and digital platforms. His work highlights the state’s unique identity, inspiring appreciation for its traditions.

Pyemwa Deshi, a distinguished writer and advocate for cultural values, is celebrated for her dedication to the arts and her efforts to promote Plateau’s heritage. Her elegance and commitment have made her a cultural ambassador and role model.

The King and Queen will lead the Walk of Unity on December 30th, beginning at Secretariat Junction and ending at Crest Hotel. Starting at 9:00 AM, the walk will highlight Plateau’s vibrant cultural diversity and foster unity among its communities.
