The Plateau State Internal Revenue Service (PSIRS) has successfully concluded its first Strategic Retreat of 2025, a three-day event aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s revenue collection system. The retreat, which brought together key stakeholders, focused on best practices, challenges, and strategies to improve tax administration and boost internally generated revenue (IGR).

Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Executive Chairman of PSIRS, Dr. Jim Pam Wayas, described the retreat as a transformative experience, equipping participants with global best practices in revenue generation and financial management. While acknowledging this progress, he assured stakeholders that with the knowledge gained from the retreat and renewed commitment from all involved, the Service is poised to surpass its 2025 revenue target.

The Secretary to the Government of Plateau State, Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, emphasized the critical role of tax collection in the state’s economic development. He urged revenue officials to work collaboratively, ensuring efficiency and unity in achieving the state’s financial goals. Similarly, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr.
